When the soul or consciousness, which is the innermost self has withdrawn itself into its formless non-dual true nature than where is the waking entity or waking world everything has become one with consciousness. That is the matter has become one with its formless substance. 

Gnani, who is having himself crossed this illusory ocean of ignorance, help others also to cross the same, without any motive whatsoever. A Gnani is knower of ultimate truth or Brahman. A person who as friend of all those who are seriously seeking truth only guides to get Gnana is Gnani.     

Whereas one who walks in accordance with the instructions of a well-wishing and worthy Sages of the truth of the past  , as also with his own  sound  reasoning, reaches  his ultimate end of understanding .

A serious seeker who is endowed with humility, calmness and patience will be able to get rid of the ignorance. By moving one guru to another .by adopting accepting any teaching without verification or sticking to some teacher or teaching or holding someone as guru and glorifying him blocks one realization.  It is the sincerity and seriousness, patience and humility leads to self-awareness.
