Only firm conviction that the consciousness is the innermost self , leads to non-dual Self-Awareness or Brahmic –Awareness or Atmic-Awareness.

The seeker, who aspires after liberation, has to mentally shun the three states as illusion and accepts their formless substance and witness as the innermost self. The innermost self is soul or consciousness. Consciousness is   as ultimate truth or Brahman because the three states are created out of consciousness, sustained by consciousness and finally dissolves as consciousness.  Therefore, there is no second thing exists other than consciousness. Thus consciousness alone is real and all else is mere illusion.  

The truth is neither in Waking nor in dream nor in deep sleep but it is hidden within the three states as their formless substance and witness, which is consciousness.  Thus Only firm conviction  that,  the consciousness is the innermost self , leads to non-dual Self-Awareness or Brahmic –Awareness or Atmic-Awareness.
