The religious path is emotional path and it is for those who has the
conviction that the practical life within the practical world as reality. Considering the traditional path as path of
truth is great mistake. There is no need
to condemn the traditional paths but seekers of truth have to realize the fact
that, they are not the means for Self-Realization. Thus it is necessary to
realize the fact that, traditional path which are based on the scriptural
authority cannot transport the seeker to their non-dual destination as declared
by the Upanishads.
All mystics and their visions, and revelations and
"realizations" are based on the ‘waking entity or ego’ as self which is the false within the false experience. They do not seek to test the truth of their experiences because they
firmly believe their experience as reality and will abuse if anyone criticize
them; they want their vanity satisfied without verifying the validity of their
belief.
People who are incapable of thinking are tend to follow a religion and yoga. since they are ignorant of the truth of their true existence they are stuck to religion or yoga. Religion and yoga is so
strong and popular because it makes no demand on the intelligent: It simply
requires belief in their doctrine.
It never strikes to religious believers to doubt whether his
religion is true? Religious believers s never use their reason because they start and
conclude that whatever is propagated by their religion is final and ultimate truth and they never doubt question.
Theologists say God is a perfect being, but they have never
known God, never proved his existence; hence their ascription of perfection to
Him is purely self-imagined. If one has to test truth as per their doctrine in
the next world only than there is no proof of the next world. The next world is
mere imagination on the base of waking entity, which is the false self. Therefore it is not proof.
Anyone can interpret texts as they like, in whatever way that pleases
them, they simply imagine away.
Yoga Vasishtha :-
"Teachers, interpretations of sacred texts, the force of religious
merit--none of these lead to the realization of that Ultimate Truth which is
revealed in the clear reflection of the heart, engendered from contact with the
good."
Katha Upanishad declares:-
This Atman cannot be attained by the study of the
Vedas, or by intelligence, or by much hearing of sacred books. It
is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Atman reveals Its own
form. (Katha Upanishad Ch-II -23-P-20)
Mundaka Upanishad :-
This
Atman cannot be attained through study of the Vedas, nor through intelligence,
nor through much learning. He who chooses Ataman—by him alone is Atman
attained. It is Atman that reveals to the seeker Its true nature. (3 page-70-upanishsds by
Nikilananda)
It means the truth is beyond scriptures and egocentric
intelligence. Thus in order to grasp,
assimilate and realize the non-dualistic truth the seeker to employ soul -centric
reasoning faculty.
That is why Sri,
Sankara says in commentary in Vedanta sutra that what is accepted without
proper enquiry will not lead a person to the final goal. On the contrary, such
acceptance will result only in evil, in something which is detrimental to our
spiritual progress. Seeker of truth
should not believe blindly in traditional orthodox non- duality without verifying
all the facts from every angle. One has to reflect through reasoning over and
over again without getting tired of the process.
Reason is the common
ground for whole humanity in modern age, whereas the appeal to scriptural
relations reaches only the sects. Those
who argue that truth is only in their religion are vain logicians, depending on
mere ideas, speculations and imaginations.
Truth is bitter pill.
It becomes very difficult for the seeker to accept it at first; because of his
inherited conditioning. Gradually he will be able to grasp it as he moves on.
One has to go beyond
Vedas means go beyond religion. Go beyond religion means, go beyond concept of
god. Thus, going beyond Veda, religion
and conceptual god means going beyond illusion. That is end of Vedas (Veda –antha)
