Formless Soul is the subtle foundation of the mind, which is present in the form of universe. The mind is present in the form of 'I' . 'I' is present in the form of universe. universe appears as waking or dream(duality) and disappears as deep sleep(non-duality).
Formless soul is present in the form of consciousness. Soul, the innermost self-supports, nourishes and sustains the illusory experience of the birth, the life, the death and the world.

Soul is the source of all life. The mind contains plants, trees, animals, humans, planets, stars and universes come from this one source. One needs to know this source in order to the truth beyond the experience of duality.
So long as one is in the realm of
duality, one has to explain how or why one thing came from another; and
contradictory views are expressed. But when a Gnani shows there is no second,
there is no production, and the contradictions do not arise at all, when the
ultimate thing is consciousness alone. Thus consciousness is ultimate truth or
Brahman.
The dualist’ arguments are based on
false self (ego or waking entity) and false experience (waking or dream or
universe) to show the weakness of the
position of dualistic view point. They
at their wits end to explain.
When one is aware
of this source through deeper self-search , one realizes the
fact that, the physical existence is mere mirage on the standpoint of the
source, which is the soul. Thus, the
source itself is the true self, which is the formless substance and witness of
the mirage created out of itself.
One feels a sense
of unity in the midst of diversity, when he becomes aware of the fact that source
itself is the true self. Therefore, the
self-knowledge is necessary to realize the cycle of birth, life and death are
mere illusion.
Veiled by ignorance, the formless soul, the innermost self appear to be different; yet in the realm of its formless non-dual true nature , the mind and soul are one in essence. In deep sleep and death and at the dawn of wisdom the mind and soul becomes one.
Seeker has to Reflect constantly on the nature of the formless soul, the innermost self and transcend physical consciousness. Thus, will one reach union with the soul? Thus, will one become identified with the soul, which is One without a second? In soul, alone all desires will find fulfillment. The truth is that one is always united with the soul. However, one must know this.
