Mundaka Upanishad/3/1/8: Eye cannot see him, nor words reveal him; by the senses,
austerity, or works he is not known. When the mind is cleansed by the grace of
wisdom, he is seen by contemplation–the One without parts.
Man and his experience of the world are part of the waking experience. Without the waking experience, there is neither man nor his experience of the world exists. The waking experience ceases to exist without the ‘mind’. Mind is present in the form of 'I'. 'I' is present in the form of universe. universe is present in the form of waking..
’I’ ceases to exists without the mind. The whole physical existence(universe) is mind. Without the mind, there is no physical existence(universe). Whatever prevails without the physical existence(universe) is the formless soul, the innermost self. The formless soul is in the form of consciousnesses. Thus soul or consciousness are one and the same thing. The soul or consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman because the whole universe is created out of consciousness. form ultimate standpoint the universe ceases to exist as reality because the universe is mirage created out of consciousness. this consciousness alone is real and all else is illusion.
The mind contains the man and his experience of the world.
The soul contains the mind. The soul or consciousness pervades the three states
everywhere and in everything in all the three states as its formless substance
and witness. Therefore, there is no second thing exists
other then conciousness.
The world is reality only on the base of false self (ego or waking entity) . On the base of soul as self, the three states are mere mirage. Therefore, viewing and judging the three states on the false self (waking entity or ego) will lead one to hallucination.

There is no difference between dream and waking experience on
the base of the soul , the innermost self. The false self(ego) is limited to the waking or
dream. The truth is beyond waking and
dream . The one, which witness the dream without the physical apparatus,
witnesses the waking experience also. Thus, the witness of the waking and dream
is within but it is apart. It is within
the waking or dream as their formless substance and it is apart from the
waking and dream, as their formless witness. The substance and witness are one in essence. therefore, the three state are mere mirage created out of consciousness.
The
waking or dream is full of form, shapes and colours. The waking or dream is
bound by form, time and space. The waking or dream is bound by birth, life and
death. The individual experiences are
happenings within the waking or dream. The dream becomes unreal, when the waking
takes place. The waking becomes unreal, when one becomes aware of the fact that,
the soul is the true self. On the base
of the soul, the three states are unreal. Therefore, the soul alone is real and
eternal. Therefore, soul is ultimate truth or Brahman.
