Veda says that this
entire world is a homogeneous entity called as Brahman. Veda also says that all
the forms existing in this world are generated from, maintained by and
dissolved into Brahman”.
Sage Sri Sankara says :- Atman is Brahman-
it means the soul is Brahman. – Brahman is ultimate truth. Therefore, the soul/spirit is
everything. The forms and names and
whatever known, seen, believed and experienced within the world are generated
,maintained by and dissolved into soul ,which is Brahman. Therefore, the man and his experience of the
world appear as waking experience, which is created sustained by and finally
dissolves as soul/spirit, which is Brahman.
Chandogya Upanishad:- sarvam
khalvidam Brahma - all this (universe)
is verily Brahman. By following back all of the relative appearances in the
world, we eventually return to that from which it is all manifest – the non-dual
reality.
One becomes limited to
the concepts, names and forms within the waking/dream. Waking or dream originates
from the soul. The soul is the true self.
Realizing the soul as the true self is truth realization.
The soul is limitless, permanent and unchanging, and by its nature nondual and universal. The soul sees the mirage, which comes and goes as three states. Therefore, there is no need to study the scriptures in order to acquire the self-knowledge. By realizing the fact that the mind is the whole physical existence and the substance of the mind is the soul is enough to acquire nondual wisdom.

The so called gurus are playing with words because maybe the
meaning is floating somewhere in between the spaces of words. People
who think themselves to be in a position to air their knowledge forget one
basic fact, namely that they go by mere appearances. Someone expounds knowledge
and the one who receives it begins to ape the person from whom he has received
the knowledge. Thus, whatever the teacher wears, he will wear; whatever
mannerisms the teacher affects, he will imitate. Moreover, the transfer of
so-called "knowledge" has been only of concepts. This is essentially
how tradition becomes established and traditional forms of worship come into
being, all of which has nothing to do with the self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
When one goes into the
annals of the history it looks like the true AdvAith expounded by Sri Sankara
and his param guru, Goudpada was lost or mutilated by the orthodox, because the
preaching and practice does not match.
It is necessary for the seeker to do his
homework, and verify the validity of all the claims, rather than blindly
believe, what others expound as knowledge, till, the un-contradicted truth is
obtained.
The seeker must have
the courage of Buddha to accept the truth and reject the untruth. Since Buddha
rejected religion, the idea of god and scriptures, therefore, it is evident that,
he has gone through every aspect and verified and found them to be inadequate
and useless for the pursuit of truth.
Even Buddhism is mixed
up with regional culture and traditions of the local religion, wherever it
existed. Thus to get the full essence from Buddhism is very difficult.
The scriptures are for
the ignorant masses, who wholly accept the material world as it presents itself.
Wisdom is for those who have begun to realize that things are not what they
seem.
Each sect concocts a
God to suit its own purposes. Such
concocted Gods have no value in pursuit of truth. The man himself suggests that there must be a
God. It is an auto-suggestion. But as one goes deeper
in self-search one becomes aware of the fact that, Vedas including the Upanishads
considered being supremely authoritative, as revealed truth. But the Upanishads clearly declares that:-
Katha Upanishad declares:
This Ataman cannot be attained by the study of the
Vedas, or by intelligence, or by much hearing of sacred books. It
is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Ataman reveals Its own
form. [Katha Upanishad Ch-II -23-P-20]
Mundaka Upanishad :-
This
Ataman cannot be attained through the study of the Vedas, nor through intelligence,
nor through much learning. He who chooses Ataman—by him alone is Ataman
attained. It is Ataman that reveals to the seeker Its true nature. -3 page70 upanhsds by
Nikilananda
It means the truth is beyond the scriptures and egocentric
intelligence. Thus in order to grasp,
assimilate and realize the non-dualistic truth the seeker to employ soul-centric
reasoning faculty. .
Sri,
Sankara says in a commentary in Vedanta sutra that what is accepted without
proper enquiry will not lead a person to the final goal. On the contrary, such
acceptance will result only in evil, in something which is detrimental to our
spiritual progress. Seeker of truth
should not believe blindly in traditional orthodox Nonduality without verifying
all the facts from every angle. One has to reflect through reasoning over and
over again without getting tired of the process.
