When one is unable to quench his
spiritual thirst from his guru or teaching he has to look elsewhere to clear
the cobwebs of his understanding and to move forward in his spiritual quest.
It is difficult for tradition-bound people to accept anything as truth
other than what they inherited from then parental grooming. Only intense urge
to know the truth and courage to accept the truth after verification with
better understanding one will be able to drop all his accumulated dross, which
is the main obstacle in self-realization.
A person who is not able to grasp the
nondual truth should constantly reflect on the formless substance witness of
the three states, without distraction.
The ‘Self’ is neither the waking
entity nor ‘self ‘is dream entity but the ‘self’ is formless soul. The soul is formless substance and the witness of
the three states. The self is beyond
form, time and space.
There is no need to renounce the worldly
duties in order to acquire self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana because
it is inner (mental) journey one can continue with his pursuit whenever he
finds spare time. His practical life
within the practical world does not conflict with his knowledge.
The knowledge that the universe is
not real but only an illusion and
that the Self is pure Consciousness is not opposed to activities of practical
life within the practical world. In
order to perform worldly activities within the practical world it is not
necessary to believe that the world is real. Only the right means are
necessary. These means are the mind, speech, body and external objects. They do
not disappear on the attainment of enlightenment but only their unreal nature
is exposed. The same way the unreal nature of the dream is exposed when waking
takes place, the unreal nature of waking
reality is exposed when wisdom dawns.
The injunctions and prohibitions of
the orthodoxy have no application to those who are in the path of wisdom or Gnana.
They apply only to those who look upon themselves as belonging to a certain
caste or station or stage of life.
The religion, caste and creed are creations
of man to live in a certain way of life within the society in a certain order as
prescribed in scriptural doctrine.
Religions pertain only to the individual within the practical world, and
not to the Self which is formless Consciousness, which pervades all the three
states as their formless substance and witness.
Thus how can one judge what is truth pass judgement or opinion when the self,
which not an individual but formless nondual existence.
